EMPLOYEE GROWTH
Dual‑core impetus drives reform in the chemical generic‑drug industry.
At 12:00 noon on May 27, 2021, the fifth session of Hiteck Talk kicked off in the company’s library. This event featured Liu Qingzi from the Technology Center, who addressed two key topics—“Consistency Evaluation of Chemical Generic Drugs” and “Centralized Drug Procurement”—and outlined the implications of these major policy reforms for the industry.

Liu Qingzi began by outlining the definition of bioequivalence evaluation for generic chemical drugs and highlighting how it differs from earlier research on generics. Drawing on his professional experience, he then shared his insights into the underlying rationale behind these reform measures. Finally, starting from the national policy context surrounding generic drug bioequivalence evaluation, he traced the timeline of the initiative’s implementation. Liu Qingzi emphasized that the reforms serve as a driving force for lowering drug prices, enhancing the quality of generic medicines, increasing industry consolidation, and promoting technological advancement within the sector.
At the conclusion of the sharing session, Liu Qingzi provided an overview of the national reforms in the payment system for generic drugs—namely, the National Centralized Drug Procurement. He likened this procurement process to a “game,” explaining its origins, rules, and outcomes, thereby helping attendees vividly grasp its impact on the broader chemical generic‑drug market. Going forward, the national centralized drug procurement initiative is expected to expand into additional pharmaceutical sectors, including biosimilars, medical devices, and traditional Chinese medicine.
Haiter Bio Group maintains close ties with the generic‑drug industry: Jingmen Hanrui is a manufacturer of chemical APIs, Tianjin Hankang is one of China’s leading small‑molecule chemical drug CROs, and Haiter Bio itself is a producer of chemical formulations. This presentation has deepened our understanding—those of us at the heart of the industry—of the reforms that have taken place over the past few years.
We look forward to seeing more employees share their industry expertise and professional skills through the Hiteck Talk platform!
